Ubisoft has announced the first wave of skins and charms for a range of Rainbow Six Siege’s top esports teams will be available to purchase during the Operation Grim Sky season, with sides also set to receive a share of revenue from purchases.
Announced at the Six Major in Paris, ten of the eleven professional teams that are a part of Ubisoft’s Pilot Program will have weapon skins available to purchase, as well as a charm. 30% of the revenue gained from purchases will be redistributed to the teams, with the first wave of items coming with new DLC Operation Grim Sky.
The teams included are:
- Evil Geniuses
- FaZe
- Fnatic
- Immortals
- Team Liquid
- Mouse Esports
- Ninjas in Pyjamas
- Rogue
- SK Gaming
- Team Vitality
“For me it is another example of where Ubisoft is in terms of esports,” Francois-Xavier Deniele, EMEA Esports Director of Ubisoft, said. “The fact we will be able to share some investment with the teams… it’s good for the community, as it allows them to buy something relating to the team they support.
“It’s important because we are in the situation where teams and their organisations are investing a lot into our game, so we want to give back and support them, too.”
While there’s no specific release date announced for Operation Grim Sky as of yet, it shouldn’t be too far off.
