With the reveal from Rockstar that Red Dead Redemption is indeed getting a sequel next year; now’s the time before the reveal trailer drops at 2AM ASDT, for wild speculation and theories.
Going off what little information Rockstar has officially provided us and various unconfirmed sources, the game will possibly be a prequel to the original game from 2010. Judging from the image released on Rockstar’s social media, it is possible to determine who these silhouetted figures might be.
Starting with the middle figure, this man shares some physical attributes of a younger John Marston; the main protagonist from the previous game.
The rest of the character’s don’t look like anybody we’ve previously seen in past games, so their identities are still unknown.
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what the story will be told; although it would be nice to play as John Marston again. Either way, it’s going to be great to return to the land of the west and take long horse rides into the setting sun.
The Red Dead Redemption 2 reveal trailer will launch at 2 A.M ASDT and is scheduled to release Spring 17, on Playstation 4 and Xbox One with a PC release still unconfirmed at this time.

Has to be a prequel, first games ends in 1914, the "old west" as we knew it was long gone. WW1 was kicking off.
