Here’s Every Announcement From Gamescom’s Opening Night Event

The Gamescom Opening Night Live event has well and truly ended early this morning, but the whopping two hour presentation showcased quite a few games. Here’s a quick and dirty list of everything that was announced last night.

Gears Of War 5 Finally Got A Story Trailer

Kait Diaz takes center stage to discover who she is, or at least who her family is in the first proper story trailer for Gears 5. The game is releasing 10th September 2019 for Xbox One and PC.

THQ Nordic Is Bringing Back Helicopter Sim Comanche

The game will feature objective-based multiplayer combat and intense dogfights with an early access program starting in early 2020.

We Saw Some Need For Speed Heat Gameplay

The trailer shows off more of the day and night mechanics and sets the scene for Palm City. Need for Speed Heat launches November 5th 2019.

Kerbal Space Program 2 Was Announced

The game will let you colonise the Mun, with the trailer showing off space station gameplay as well. Releasing before the end of March 2020 for Windows PC via Steam and “other storefronts”. Console versions will follow “shortly” after for Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

Little Nightmares 2 Was Also Announced

The sleeper hit will continue to follow Six but this time she has a new friend named Mono. They’ll journey together too – but could coop be a feature this time? We’re not sure. But Little Nightmares 2 will be hitting Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC in 2020.

Predator: Hunting Grounds Was Shown Properly And It Looks Gnarly

The game is an online multiplayer shooter where one player plays as the Predator while others play as the prey. The build is pre-alpha, but still gives you an idea of how the game plays including the “Predkour” parkour system. This one is a Playstation 4 exclusive, coming next year.

SEGA Has A New Strategy Game Making Civilisations, And It’s Called Humankind

The game is being developed by the team who brought you Endless Space 2, and lets you build a civilisation from the Neolithic era to the modern age. The catch? You start as the Romans, but you can evolve and mix and match aspects from other cultures to create your own unique culture. Humankind will be hitting PC in 2020.

Everspace 2 Is The Space Game You’ve Always Wanted, But Is A Bit Further Away

The game will hit Steam in early access in the second half of 2020, but you can expect the full release in 2021. So far, only a PC release has been confirmed.

The Witcher III On Nintendo Switch Got A Release Date

The game features all of the downloadable expansion packs, and comes on one game card too. The Witcher III: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition releases on Nintendo Switch in October.

The Co-Creator Of Halo Revealed His New Game And It’s Called Disintegration

Developed by Marcus Lehto, former creative director at Bungie, the game focuses on Roamer, a robotic pilot of a heavily armed vehicle called the Gravcycle. It has a full story campaign and of course, given the studio’s pedigree, a multiplayer element too. The game is launching in 2020 on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.

In the game, you’ll “face your worst fears” as you are confronted with the “emotional impact of your actions”. The story is said to mix fantasy with reality and will let you either hide or confront your enemies, which is refreshing for a horror game honestly. Oh, and it’s a Stadia exclusive. Welp.

Erica Is A Live Action Thriller From Sony Interactive Entertainment And It’s Out Right Now

The game has you playing as the titular character as she tries to unfold the mystery of her deceased father. The game was first announced back in 2017, and is playable with either your phone or a DualShock 4.

Port Royale 4 Is Hitting All Platforms, Even The Switch, In 2020

The long-running strategy series will introduce turn-based naval battles for the first time, with up to ten ships battling it out. There’s four campaigns to play through as well, as well as 60 Carribean cities to trade with.
