#9 – Forza Horizon 5
Forza Horizon is a series that has gone from strength to strength and the developer’s interpretation of Mexico, its culture, and its love for cars is tremendously realised in one of the greatest racing games of all time. We’re thrilled to recognise Playground’s work here as this most recent iteration of the franchise is clearly the most refined.
With a beautiful, exotic sandbox and over five hundred cars to look over in the showroom, and a sumptuous audio design complete with ray-tracing audio, it’s a game that’s unmatched as far as sheer effort in presentation this year.
In his review, Brodie gave Forza Horizon 5 a 9.5/10 and said: “Though it’s iterative in a lot of ways, Forza Horizon 5 is a near-faultless open-world racing experience that’s so sure of itself and its offerings that it goes the extra mile to sprinkle in the kinds of fan service that people go wild for.
