It’s the one we’ve been waiting for with PlayStation holding an epic 60-minute State of Play stream to kick off Summer Game Fest and here’s everything that they announced.

Seemingly starting in the moments after Faye’s death at the start of God of War (2016) the game seems to be set parallel to the events of the series reboot. Indeed then following Faye, trapped in the afterlife of the gods, she briefly weilding a sword against plant-like enemies before she’s captured and her magic powers coming into full effect with an enchanted sword from allies Phranque and Rue.
Egyptian mythology was indeed teased, the big bad seemingly an Egyptian god. Sekhmet was also mentioned, and Begtse features in an early boss fight, who I believe is from Tibetan Buddhist mythology after a quick internet search.

Living up to the promise of a more grizzly superhero adventure, the blood effectes, gore and environmental takedowns were on full display as Logan slashed his way through a litany of different enemey types. The gameplay seemingly emulates the Spider-Man games, and if this trailer is anythign to go by, will be riddled with a similar amount of set-pieces. Jean Grey also made a brief appearance, as did Logan’s badass motorbike. Mystique and Sabertooth were also teased. The trailer closed out revealing the release date of September 17th with pre-orders live later today.

The game is coming September 25 2026 and looks fantastic! The latest trailer shows off the Mount Oe stage it’s fearsome boss, Shuten Doji.
A demo is also available now!
The game is getting a gameplay and story deep dive later this summer.
Personally been hugely excited for this. It was on eof my games of the last year, and I’ve been waiting to play it with my console buddies. It’s getting a new single-player mode coinciding with the PS5 launch, which may take your fancy if the MMO element isn’t your cup of tea.
Another game that’s very me-coded. The game from the Ori developers is coming this October, exiting early access and coming to PlayStation 5. PC players have enjoyed this game for a while now, with a stack of content added since it first entered early acces. The game is a co-operative, top-down, Soulslike action RPG.

I LOVED Stuntman back in the day, and am stoked to see this resurface. Tasked with completing a stunt course for the sake of nailing the shot, it’s a great take on the driving genre.
Ill is one of the scariest, most disturbing looking games on the horizon right now. It’s firmly on my radar, even if it is purposefully grotesque. No firm release date was given, other than next year.
It’s tempting me back in. Looks kinda creepy as well, and PlayStation announced a limited price discount.
