Today in an interview with Shuhei Yoshida (President of Sony WorldWide Studios) was conducted for www.4gamer.net(via Edge) it was revelaed that the “Share” feature of the soon to be released PS4 can actually be restricted by game developers at their discretion.

Shuhei said “There will be parts of a game that the maker does not want people to be able to see. For example, on Vita, developers can in certain scenes disable the feature that lets users take a screenshot, and (the Share function) will have a similar mechanism. The creator may not want to make video of the final boss sharable, for instance.”

Which personally for me is a good move by Sony. These restrictions have the potential to stop unwanted spoilers and stop the movement of copyright material for example.

While no release date or price has been set for the PS4, it is claimed that it will be released this holiday season, what remains to be seen however if this will be region specific release dates or a world wide release.

Expect more details to be officially revealed by Sony at E3 which is just over a month away!
