Activision has today revealed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and it’s coming on October 23rd to Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23rd, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version being a seemingly fully fledged version too.
We’ve got extended previews for the single player and multiplayer portions of the game, but it will focus on campaign, multiplayer, and a DMZ mode with the game focusing on an escalating global conflict centered on the Korean Peninsula.
This is the first game to focus fully on the current gen of consoles, which results in a game that looks graphically better than any COD game that has come before it, with it set to also be a darker game tonally than other COD games.
As far as multiplayer goes, there’s a new weapon-first technology stack that is set to improve precision aiming, physical handling, realistic audio propagation, enhanced visibility, and smarter combat perception.
There’s also a DMZ mode that is a living combat sandbox that is set across a large-scale conflict zone with structured missions and emergent gameplay.
