Target Canada Accidentally Leaked Heaps About A New Middle-Earth Game

#awkward

In what must be an awkward situation for all those involved, Target Canada has accidentally published listings for a brand new Middle-Earth game on their website. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War looks to be the long overdue follow up to 2014’s Shadows of Mordor and won’t be held back by the previous generation of consoles this time around either.

The listings indicate that a standard and gold edition will be available, although the Gold Edition allegedly includes a slew of digital content which gives us an indication of how Shadow of War might improve upon it’s predecessor.

• Slaughter Tribe Nemesis Expansion
• Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion
• The Blade of Galadriel Story Expansion
• The Desolation of Mordor Story Expansion
• Gold War Chest
• Over $125 in total value

Nemesis Expansions include a new Orc Tribe featuring new enemies, followers, missions, abilities, weapons, Fortress and wilderness updates, and a Mythic Gear Set.

Story Expansions introduce a new campaign, playable character & abilities, side missions, enemies, allies & more.

Experience an epic open-world brought to life by the award-winning Nemesis System. Forge a new Ring of Power, conquer Fortresses in massive battles and dominate Mordor with your personal Orc army in Middle-earth: Shadow of War

While the story details are scarce as to the setting and premise of the game, it seems like Monolith and Warner Bros. will be significantly expanding the much praised Nemesis system to the point where it can be expanded via downloadable content. We’re not sure but we’d also speculate that “Forge a new Ring of Power” indicates a crafting system of some sort being implemented too.

Keen posters on NeoGAF also pointed out that the game was scheduled to ship on the 22nd of August this year, although it’s always worth noting that dates can change especially given the nature of this information leak.
