After it was confirmed that former ZA/UM staff had banded together to form Longdue, a new development studio made up of some former Disco Elysium developers, a new trailer and Kickstarter campaign have been launched for their first title, Hopetown.

The game, which has already well eclipsed its backing target, is a “journalistic CRPG” that is described as a heady “winding narrative with high moral complexities and reactive conversations.”

It has also been confirmed that Olga Moskvina is a part of the team, after serving as a key writer and editor on Disco Elysium.

From now through to May 29, a special edition called the ‘Newsflash’ edition will be available to backers. It’s limited to 500, costs around AUD $66, and, among other bonuses, will feature backers’ names in both the game’s credits and in an in-game newspaper.

Obviously, there’s no official release date for Hopetown, but the Kickstarter page has a delivery target of December 2028.
