Melbourne Based Studio Mighty Games Is Creating A Game To Fight Homophobia

The Victorian Labor Government is working with Melbourne Based Mighty Games (responsible for games such as Shooty Skies and Disney Crossy Roads) to build a new digital gaming app that will give players insight into the experiences of LGBTI people and the prejudices and discriminations that they face.

This fun and immersive free app is being built by a new team called ‘Mighty Serious’ and will release in late 2018. It will help people build understanding and modify behaviour and perspectives towards the LGBTI community. The studio has partnered with the Victorian AIDS Council as well as Victorian University to ensure that the content is appropriate and educational.

This game is apart of Labor’s initiative to combat Homophobia. The Minister for Creative Industries and Minister for Equality Martin Foley said:

“Creativity can play a powerful role in promoting understanding, and this project is one of the ways we are working to bring about positive social change for the LGBTI community and for all Victorians.”

“We look forward to working with Mighty and the project partners to create a game which will be available to people across the state, the nation and the globe.”
