Essendon Football Club Has Acquired A Top Esports Team

Essendon Football Club has announced that it has acquired the license for Abyss Esports and will relocate the team to Melbourne to compete in the League of Legends, Oceanic Pro League and Oceanic Challenger League next year.

The operations and management of the club will be fully integrated as a division of the Essendon Football Club and the team will be renamed with a new name, brand and logo

Essendon Football Club has said that they are committed to creating a professional culture and high performance environment for the team providing the best facilities, programs and resources to compete locally and globally.

You can read about Essendon’s move into Esports on their website. Honestly, this is pretty exciting. We saw the Adelaide Football Club move into this territory last year, but  Essendon seem really committed to getting behind the Esports team, helping them with marketing and taking their performance to the next level.
