Australian Pricing And Release Dates For The iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max & iPhone XSR

Overnight, Apple took to the stage in their yearly event to announce not one, not two but three new iPhones. The iPhone XS is almost identical to last year’s model, the iPhone XS Max is a little bit bigger than a 7/8 Plus (with the same functionality as the XS) and the iPhone XR is a brand new phone aimed at those wanting that Apple premium feel without the same cost (it’s not as good as the XS or XS Max).

iPhone XS

The iPhone XS comes in the same form factor as last year’s X model at 5.8 inches. It comes in Space Gray, Silver and Gold and has a brand new A12 chip which allows things such as FaceID and general use to be a lot faster. It also has a Super Retina display (OLED) and also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10. Apple has said that it will have an extra half an hour of charge.

iPhone XS Release Date

The iPhone XS is launching in Australia on September 21st both online and in-stores with pre-orders going live on this Friday (the 14th of September).

iPhone XS Max

The iPhone XS Max looks identical to both the iPhone X and iPhone XS but it’s much larger. It has a screen size of 6.5 inches, but the form factor is nearly identical to the 7/8 Plus. It comes in Space Gray, Silver and Gold and has a brand new A12 chip which allows things such as FaceID and general use to be a lot faster. It also has a Super Retina display (OLED) and also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10. Apple has said that it will have an extra hour and a half an hour of charge.

The iPhone XR is where things get a little confusing for consumers. It’s Apple’s way of making sure that it has a cheaper iPhone in their lineup (although they’d never say that). It looks similar to the iPhone X, but it sits somewhere in the middle with a 6.1 inch display. It comes in White, Black, Blue, Coral, Yellow and Red and it also has an LCD display which is unique for an iPhone. It doesn’t have 3D touch but it does have FaceID.
