The Sega Mega Drive Mini Is Coming Later This Year

SEGA has announced that a brand new Sega Mega Drive Mini (Genesis Mini in the US) will release on September 19th.

The console will not be developed by AT Games (who were notoriously bad at creating these devices in the past), but the software will instead be done by M2, who created the recent Sega Ages software (that have actually been quite good).

The console will include two controllers and 40 games pre-installed. So far, we’ve got 10 of them confirmed:

  • Altered Beast
  • Castlevania Bloodlines
  • Comix Zone
  • Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
  • Ecco the Dolphin
  • Gunstar Heroes
  • Shining Force
  • Sonic the Hedgehog
  • Space Harrier 2
  • Toejam & Earl
