Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts Isn’t Open World And Is Coming This Year

Previously announced in August last year, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts abandons the open-world mechanics of the third game and instead will focus on what developer CI Games is calling “contract-based missions”.

The game takes place in the Siberian wilderness, with each contract being repeatable with multiple ways to hit your target. If you’re feeling confident, you can even complete secondary objectives to extra rewards.

CI Games CEO, Marek Tymiski, had a rather candid statement to give about the issues that plagued Ghost Warrior 3:

“We were too ambitious in terms of the scope of Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, but we’ve learned from our missteps. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts will be more focused on emergent gameplay with an open-ended mission design that the team feels strong about, but it will not be set in an open world. It is going to be a more tactical, more condensed experience and the game will offer plenty of replayability, both on the single player campaign and on the multiplayer modes.”

Today, CI Games have announced the release date for Contracts and put out a new trailer.

Sniper Ghost Warriors Contracts will release on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC on the 22nd November this year.
