Our Very Own Aussie Kano And A Bunch Of Other Kharacters Have Just Been Cast In The New Mortal Kombat Movie

It’s kind of hard to believe the Mortal Kombat movie is finally happening after so much time in development hell, but the casting news keeps coming regardless. It’s finally happening folks!

Variety is reporting that New Line Pictures has signed on Chin Han (The Dark Knight, Sleeping Dogs, Arrow) to play Shang Tsung, while Hiroyuki Sanada (Sunshine, Avengers: Endgame and The Wolverine) will be playing Scorpion.

Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the production has found Sonya Blade and Kano. Sonya will be played by Jessica McNamee (The Meg, Packed To The Rafters) while Kano will be played by Josh Lawson (Anchorman 2). Lewis Tan (Wu Assassins, Deadpool 2) has also been cast in an undisclosed role.

The five actors join the previously announced batch of actors.

The film will be directed by Simon McQuoid while James Wan (SAW, The Fast & The Furious 7, The Conjuring) will produce.

The reboot is expected to hit screens on March 5th 2021.
