HBO has announced that Game Of Thrones is getting a prequel called House of the Dragon. The show will presumably launch on HBO’s streaming service, HBO Max which launches early next year. The show is set tor a 10 episode run initially.
The show will be based on the book Fire & Blood: House of the Dragon which is set 300 years before Game of Thrones.
In a statement, HBO programming president Casey Bloys said “The Game of Thrones universe is so rich with stories. We look forward to exploring the origins of House Targaryen and the earlier days of Westeros along with Miguel, Ryan and George.”
