Reedpop (the company behind PAX Australia) has announced in a Facebook post that they’ve sold Oz Comic-Con to another events company called Expertise Events. This sale will not effect Pax Australia, which will still stay under the Reedpop stable. It’s unclear how this will impact Oz Comic-Con going forward. It’s unclear if it will expand beyond the cities it has currently been held in, or if it’ll remain the same.
The statement says:
To our Fans,
We have some big news to share regarding Oz Comic-Con.
Following six years of pop culture celebration and fun we have made the difficult decision to divest Oz Comic-Con to Expertise Events, one of Australia’s leading consumer event organisers. Expertise Events are well positioned to take over Oz Comic-Con and to share your pop culture passion with.
We would like to thank everyone who has attended and been part of this amazing journey. You gave us the opportunity to celebrate our pop culture obsessions with the best fans in the world – and for that we’ll be forever grateful.
The decision to sell our Oz Comic-Con events is not a reflection on the hard-work of the team, the support of our exhibitors or the passion of our fans – it is time to let another team take the reins. But know that we will miss you and we wish each and every one of you the very best for the future.

Expertise Events holds a lot of large consumers events, but nothing quite like Oz Comic-Con. Kotaku Australia notes that their most consistent event is the Craft and Quilt Fair which ran across every major Australia city in 2019.
