Apple Arcade Is Adding 20 Games Today Including Four Brand New Exclusives

Some great new titles to get stuck into this weekend!

Apple has announced a whole slate of new games being added to Apple Arcade today, including four brand-new titles exclusive to the service and another 16 App Store greats brough to Arcade in their enhanced, ad and microtransaction-free forms.

The new titles are a great mix of high-quality games, from Triband’s next gloriously silly romp in WHAT THE CAR? to a sustainability-focused city builder, a Disney word game and a co-op roguelike adventure in the TMNT universe.

“Apple Arcade brings together hundreds of fun titles in one gaming destination for our users to discover and enjoy,” said Alex Rofman, Apple’s senior director of Apple Arcade. “Today’s launch boosts our award-winning catalog with 20 new games people will love playing and sharing with their friends and families.”

Take a look at the new games debuting on Apple Arcade today:

WHAT THE CAR?

Triband, the same folks who brought you the Apple Arcade classic WHAT THE GOLF? and the VR hit WHAT THE BAT? are back with another absolutely ridiculous take on an otherwise-standard concept. This time around, it’s a racing game where your car is subject to a number of bonkers twists like the addition of giant legs, rockets, a stretchy centre, even cooking challenges. It looks typically nuts.

“We’re a small team, and we love making comedy games, so we’re happy to unveil our latest project, WHAT THE CAR?,” said Triband’s Creative Director, Tim Garbos. “The best part is players can enjoy it today on Apple Arcade. It’s a racing adventure filled with comedy — an amazingly absurd car game with lots of laughs — that everyone can play and share with their friends and family.”

Cityscapes: Sim Builder

With a team stacked with veterans in the sim and city building game industry, the folks at Magic Fuel Games are bringing their expertise to the mobile format with Cityscapes: Sim Builder. This new breed of city-building sim has been designed from the ground-up for mobile devices without sacrificing the depth and vibrant 3D visuals of great, modern city builders. In a twist, Cityscapes has a huge focus on sustainability, taking players to think hard about the systems they’re building and keep in mind their environmental impacts in their efforts to keep citizens happy, healthy and living their best lives.

TMNT Splintered Fate

The brothers are back (and under attack) in a brand-new cooperative roguelike action adventure. Players can control Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael as they attempt to discover the whereabouts of a missing Splinter and the motivations of their new assailants. Roguelike hack-and-slash action with co-op gameplay utilising each turtle’s unique attacks and a number of power-ups promises to be a great time for TMNT fans of all kinds.

Disney SpellStruck

Fan-favourite Disney and Pixar characters come together in a brand-new word game developed together with the co-creator of the classic Words With Friends. In this take on the classic tabletop word game, players will be able to compete with friends, play new daily challenges and puzzle their way to the top of the leaderboards with all of their Disney favourites in tow. Best of all, it’s an Apple Arcade title so you won’t have to deal with any intrusive ads or added monetisation.
