Deadline has revealed that the upcoming Knuckles TV series, a spin-off of the highly-succesful recent Sonic the Hedgehog live action films, has added five new cast members including the legendary Christopher Lloyd.
The series officially kicked off production in London a couple of months ago after being announced back in February, with the announced cast at the time including Idris Elba reprising his role as Knuckles. Also previously announced were Adam Pally as Wade Whipple, Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski alongside some new cast including Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), Julian Barratt (Mindhorn), Ellie Taylor (Ted Lasso), Rory McCann (Game of Thrones) and Kid Cudi.
Now, we know that five extra cast are joining the fray with Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future, The Addams Family), Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride, Saw), Stockard Channing (Grease, Practical Magic), Paul Scheer (The League, Big Mouth) and Rob Huebel (The Goldbergs, Big Mouth), though there’s no mention of what characters any of them will be playing.

The Knuckles series will be set between the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and the already-confirmed Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (set to hit theatres in December 2024) and is helmed by Jeff Fowler, the director of the first two films. Paramount Plus has also brought a lot of the key creative team from the films over to the series, and has also announced some of the addition episode directors set to contribute including Carol Banker, Brandon Trost and The Lonely Island’s Jorma Taccone.
The Knuckles series is coming to Paramount Plus, and the first tease on social media shows the iconic Knuckles the Treasure Hunter hat that long time fans will know from Knuckles’ feature in the 1996 Sonic the Hedgehog anime film.
