EA Sports FC Tactical Is A New Strategic Mobile Spin-Off And Aussies Can Play It Now

On Android devices, at least.

EA only just launched its debut major football game post-FIFA, under the new name of EA Sports FC, but it’s already revealed how it’ll continue to branch out and expand its new brand with different experiences. The first of which is EA Sports FC Tactical.

This new free-to-play game is headed to mobile platforms in early 2024, for iOS and Android, and will put a strategic spin on the typical football gameplay by simulating matches in a pseudo-turn-based format where players will need to plan and execute strategies based on how matches are playing out.

Naturally, there’ll also be a heavy element of collecting and levelling up players and teams along with customisations like balls and kits, using progressions systems that form the basis of the game’s monetisation. At the very least, it’s packing over 5000 authentic players represented from top leagues including Premier League, LALIGA EA SPORTS, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and Serie A and more.

You can pre-register for EA Sports FC Tactical on the App Store here or on the Google Play Store here.

Better yet, if you’re in select regions, such as Australia, the game is already available in Early Access form for Android devices on the Google Play Store, so you can check it out right now! Grab it here. I had a crack on my Pixel 8 Pro and it’s a pretty impressive little game, with some very stylish animations during match-ups and skill use on the field that definitely give it an interesting tactics RPG feel.

As far as the “big” EA Sports FC game goes on consoles, we gave it an 8/10 in our review, saying “EA Sports FC 24 doesn’t go out of its way to change too much, but it doesn’t need to – the additions to Ultimate Team, refined gameplay and nicer presentation packages make it a great football sim.”
