Update: It looks as though the Microsoft Store has outed the early launch date for Omni-Man in Mortal Kombat 1 ahead of time, with a listing revealing that owners of the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack will get access to the new playable fighter starting on November 6th.
The listing doesn’t mention a wider release date for those picking up the character individually, but if the November 6th early access date is accurate it makes sense that we’d learn more very soon.
NetherRealm and WB Games have offered the first proper look at the character of Omni-Man, from the Prime Video series Invincible and voiced by J.K. Simmons, as a playable fighter in Mortal Kombat 1.
Coming to the game in November as DLC, Omni-Man will be available for standalone purchase or as part of the Kombat Pack, which will include a total of three new playable “guest” characters in Omni-Man, DC’s Peacemaker and The Boys’ Homelander, along with returning Mortal Kombat fighters, Quan Chi, Ermac and Takeda Takahashi. It’ll also come with new Kameo fighters, one of which you can see in the below trailer with Tremor:
Here’s what NetherRealm and WB Games had to say about the Omni-Man character and this new trailer:
“Inspired by the Invincible comic book and Prime Video adult animated series and featuring the voice of actor J. K. Simmons, Omni-Man in Mortal Kombat 1 exhibits a formidable moveset and powerful abilities, arriving in Nov. 2023 as the first playable character in the Kombat Pack.
“The new video also shows off a glimpse of Tremor, a downloadable content Kameo Fighter who can assist during matches with a range of support moves and will be available as part of the Kombat Pack in November 2023.
“The Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack includes a character skin for Johnny Cage with the voice and likeness of actor and martial artist Jean-Claude Van Damme (available now); three new playable Mortal Kombat characters—Quan Chi (winter 2023/2024), Ermac (spring 2024), Takeda Takahashi (summer 2024); three new playable guest fighters—Omni-Man (November 2023), Peacemaker based on DC’s The Suicide Squad film & Peacemaker series on Max (winter 2023/2024), Homelander based on The Boys television series (spring 2024); one-week early access to all playable characters; and five new Kameo Fighters—Tremor (Nov. 2023), along with Ferra, Janet Cage, Khameleon, and Mavado (release dates still to be announced).
“The Kombat Pack is available now as part of the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition for $149.95 RRP or separately for $59.95 RRP. All playable characters and Kameo Fighters will also be available for standalone purchase.
Amazon currently has the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition at a discounted $139.95 with free shipping.
