Shadows Of The Damned: Hella Remastered’s Release Date Trailer Is Perfect

God Hand mentioned.

After being announced last year and eventually confirmed to launch this year, Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered – a newly-minted version of Grasshopper Manufacture’s 2011 punk rock action thriller – has finally secured a release date.

The game will be launching for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch and PC on the very appropriate date of October 31st, 2024, giving fans the opportunity to celebrate Halloween with Garcia Hotspur and Johnson. Digital pre-orders are already live on PlayStation and Xbox for just $30.95 on PSN or $39.95 on the Xbox Store, and pre-ordering also gets you up to 3 days early access to play the game.

The release date was revealed via what is easily one of my favourite video game trailers in recent memory, perfectly embodying the spirit of Shadows of the Damned and the duality that is Suda51 and Shinji Mikami. Not only do we get a look at more gameplay footage and some funky new costumes for Hotspur, but the studio has seen fit to ensure we know exactly who was responsible for important jobs like Enemy Design, Concept Art, Creative Direction and… Mr. God Hand?

It’s a whole thing. There’s also a lot of screaming. Take a look:

From the official description:

Kick some demon tail as Garcia Hotspur on one devil of a ride. The flames of hell will feel frigid compared to the hot-blooded Garcia on his quest to get his girl back from the Lord of the Underworld.

– A hot-blooded, hellishly twisted, feverishly filthy, love and hate filled road trip
Join the crass Garcia Hotspur and his boney buddy, Johnson, as they traverse the depths of the Underworld to steal back Garcia’s kidnapped lover, Paula, from the clutches of Fleming, the Lord of the Underworld. Let the soul of rock ‘n’ roll run loose in the heart of the twisted hellscape that is the Underworld.

– Make it through fiendishly funky dungeons with the powers of light and dark
The powers of light and dark pave your path forward. Like ravers in a nightclub, demons are emboldened by the dark, but grow weak when exposed to the light. Use your buddy Johnson to blast your way through the darkness of the Underworld.

– A cult classic born from the most creative minds in the industry
A third-person shooter crafted by industry legends Goichi Suda (No More Heroes, Killer7, etc.) and Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil, God Hand, etc.)
