shadows of the damned hella remastered

The Shadows Of The Damned Remaster Is Confirmed For 2024 With New Screenshots And Info

Garcia and Johnson are back!

Update: With PAX East 2024 underway, Grasshopper Manufacture has dropped more info on its upcoming Shadows Of The Damned remaster, appropriately titled Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered.

The game is set for a launch in 2024 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch and PC with digital listings now live containing new descriptions and new screenshots of the game, which you can see below:

A hot-blooded, hellishly twisted, feverishly filthy, love and hate filled road trip

Join the crass Garcia Hotspur and his boney buddy, Johnson, as they traverse the depths of the Underworld to steal back Garcia’s kidnapped lover, Paula, from the clutches of Fleming, the Lord of the Underworld. Let the soul of rock ‘n’ roll run loose in the heart of the twisted hellscape that is the Underworld.

Make it through fiendishly funky dungeons with the powers of light and dark

The powers of light and dark pave your path forward. Like ravers in a nightclub, demons are emboldened by the dark, but grow weak when exposed to the light. Use your buddy Johnson to blast your way through the darkness of the Underworld.

A cult classic born from the most creative minds in the industry

A third-person shooter crafted by industry legends Goichi Suda (No More Heroes, Killer7, etc.) and Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil, God Hand, etc.)

Suda51 fans were naturally very excited when the legendary creator revealed during a Devolver Digital pre-show last year that 2011’s survival horror cult classic, Shadows of the Damned (which was a collaboration with Resident Evil’s Shinji Mikami), was getting an official remaster.

While details were few and far between at the initial reveal, we now know a little more thanks to a new promo video aimed at PAX East 2024 attendees, advertising the fact that Grasshopper Manufacture will have a booth on-site dedicated to the game. The video not only confirms that PAX-goers will be able to get hands-on with the game as well as meet and play cards with Suda51, it’s also quietly dropped the full title of Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered.

Those who’re attending PAX East across the pond in Boston will have the opportunity to score prizes by beating Suda at blackjack or competing in a hardcore Shadows of the Damned quiz, which sounds suitably goofy.
