Grasshopper Manufacture has announced its second-ever Grasshopper Direct showcase, which is set to air over the next day or so – exact time pending – and will feature a new look at Shadows of the Damned: Remastered among (hopefully) a surprise or two.
“We’re currently working our asses off on getting it ready on time this time, and we don’t want to screw this one up, so stay tuned for further updates on the exact time,” reads the studio’s post on X, announcing the showcase.
For context, the first Grasshopper Direct in June 2023 wound up being delayed from its planned air date by over an hour thanks to some technical hiccups. Eventually, we saw some new footage from Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered, which was still without release date or full title at the time, and Suda51 teased an unannounced title in true fashion by “accidentally” playing it on camera. The 11-minute show also featured a few cutaways of “fake” game and movie projects that may or may not have something to do with a new game. It was a whole time.
The 2nd Grasshopper Direct will be dropping this Wednesday, July 31st!?

Oddly enough it was less than a week ago that Grasshopper Manufacture dropped the release date and a new trailer for the remaster of Shadows of the Damned, which is an interesting move this close to a bigger presentation, from a studio full of interesting moves.
Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered will be launching for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch and PC on the very appropriate date of October 31st, 2024, giving fans the opportunity to celebrate Halloween with Garcia Hotspur and Johnson. Digital pre-orders are already live on PlayStation and Xbox for just $30.95 on PSN or $39.95 on the Xbox Store, and pre-ordering also gets you up to 3 days early access to play the game.
The release date was revealed via what is easily one of my favourite video game trailers in recent memory, perfectly embodying the spirit of Shadows of the Damned and the duality that is Suda51 and Shinji Mikami. Not only do we get a look at more gameplay footage and some funky new costumes for Hotspur, but the studio has seen fit to ensure we know exactly who was responsible for important jobs like Enemy Design, Concept Art, Creative Direction and… Mr. God Hand?
It’s a whole thing. There’s also a lot of screaming. Take a look:
