PAX Australia 2024 is fast approaching, kicking off at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on October 11th to October 13th, and the expo has just revealed it’ll have the biggest tabletop presence in PAX Aus history – plus this year will mark the debut of Disney Lorcana at the show.
Lorcana fans and newcomers will have the chance to get hands-on with the game, playing and learning with others at a dedicated booth for the hot new TCG which just launched its fifth set (and the first to be simultaneously available here in Australia).
“We’re extremely excited to bring Disney Lorcana to Australian fans this year,” said Will Chan, Disney Lorcana Sales and Marketing Manager, in a press release. “Whether you’re a Disney fan, new to TCGs or a fully fledged Illumineer well versed in questing for lore, our booth will have something for everyone. We look forward to bringing the community together to play, learn and share in celebrating this wonderful experience during the show!”

Aside from Lorcana, PAX-goers can also expect to see the usual tabletop staples like Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons, the latter of which is celebrating 50 years this year and will have first-time hands-on demos of new sets and exclusive merch available. Bandai is bringing along its popular TCGs like Dragon Ball Super, Digimon, One Piece and the new Sand Land game, and Star Wars: Unlimited will also appear with an exclusive Grogu event promo card up for grabs.
Elsewhere, expect to see the Paint and Take miniatures area return, new releases from brands like Exploding Kittens and Big Potato, this year’s Pax Aus Indie Showcase tabletop winners, stores, stalls and a heap more.
Finally, the introduction of a new theatre at PAX Aus 2024, the Owlbear Theatre, will also see some exciting TTRPG –One Shot Adventures being run throughout the weekend.
