It’s been well documented that there were some pretty serious syncing issues with the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons. I myself had experienced some issues with them prior to the day one update, which managed to fix things slightly.
Well, Nintendo has finally addressed the issue on the official support website. Most of the responses are standard although some of the things that it asks owners to do are downright weird. Things like making sure that it’s not behind an aquarium or within the distance of 3-4 feet of another electronic device are just downright unacceptable.
Hopefully Nintendo continue to fix this issue with further updates, as the day one update definitely helped the situation.
Ensure that the Nintendo Switch console is placed to minimize interference with the Joy-Con. It is best if the Nintendo Switch console is placed out in the open and that it is not:
Check for possible sources of interference and turn them off. Interference can be caused by devices, such as:
In most cases it will be enough to move these devices three to four feet away from the Nintendo Switch console and/or Joy-Con controllers. However, if you continue to experience this issue, please power these devices off while using the Nintendo Switch console.

Day two update fixed my JoyCon sync issue. Tested it when I first got it and the issue was present, now after updating I have used it 15 ft away behind my back and a wall and it worked perfectly.
