Bubsy Just Won’t Go Away And He Wants Your Money To Fund DLC

With nostalgia running rampant these days, it was inevitable every mascot would try to take a slice of the pie and cash in on the fond memories people have for their franchises. Sadly for Bubsy, the boastful bobcat who is more than flesh and blood can stand, there isn’t the same fanfare for his second coming.

Bubsy: Paws on Fire is the upcoming sequel to Woolies Strike Back, the critically condemned return for the bipedal, loudmouthed feline. Though the game isn’t out yet, a Kickstarter campaign has been launched to fund extra downloadable content for the title.

The content in question ticks all of the usual boxes. Impossible levels, extra outfits, mini-games and other things in that ballpark. As expected, there are various tiers of rewards for potential backers, including a tier that includes the full game when it launches in April.

I will say, I’m not abandoning hope completely with Paws on Fire as the bobcat has seen a shift in developers, moving away from Black Forest Games and opting for Choice Provisions, who have a proven back catalogue of decent platformers in the Bit.Trip franchise.

The campaign to raise funds can be found here when it officially launches tomorrow.

Bubsy: Paws on Fire is slated for release in April, while the Spicy Extras content, should it be funded, will launch later in the year.
