In a bit of a surprise this morning, Playtonic has pulled the curtain back on their follow-up to the charming Yooka-Laylee which is called Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair.
It’s expected to release for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam this year.
In a bit of a departure from the original game and those that inspired it like Banjo-Kazooie, Impossible Lair does away with the third-person perspective it seems, having players run through a series of “charming and challenging 2D levels” which can all be found within a huge “3D over world filled with secrets and puzzles”.
We expect we’ll see more from Playtonic on Impossible Lair in the weeks to come.
