Nintendo has tonight added a Mission and Rewards section to Nintendo Switch Online.
This is similar to PlayStation Trophies or Xbox Achievements, although way more similar in the sense that completing objectives such as playing a game a week, backing up your save data or playing a certain game on Nintendo Switch Online will get you platinum points.
You can then spend those Platinum points in the My Nintendo Store, but there’s also special icons that you can choose for your profile pictures. Currently, these include icons from Super Mario Odyssey as well as Animal Crossing: New Horizons although these are set to change from time to time.
The icons that are currently available in the store will only be available until April 5th.
Hopefully this is something that Nintendo continue to add to over time as there’s obviously a lot of people that would want this achievement type system and a way to use those points is even better.
