Le Creuset might be a brand you’d associated with boomers who have way too much expendable income to spend on high-quality cookware, but it seems as though it’s making an earnest attempt to appeal to we millenials as we age into an era where being excited about casserole dishes is appropriate.
Case in point – a new Pokémon collection from Le Creuset that’s launching locally from next month, and actually looks delightful, if appropriately ‘spenno given the quality.
The collection will feature a number of Pokemon-inspired pieces from rice pots and marmites to a classic kettle, stacking mug sets and nesting tableware sets. It’ll be released in two phases and will include items inspired by Pokémon, Poké Balls, and more. The first phase is launching on July 30th, while the second is planned for November 2024, and everything will be available via the official Australian La Creuset online store.

Pokémon Rice Pot 18cm in Nectar – AU$520 / NZ$570
Enameled Cast Iron pot featuring a decal of Pikachu’s tail and finished in a Nectar colour, reminiscent of Pikachu himself. The lid is adorned with a Poké Ball-style relief, and the Iridescent Knob features a Poké Ball icon.
Pokémon Marmite 22cm in Shiny Black – AU$550 / NZ$610
Finished in Shiny Black, this Marmite is topped with a lid featuring line art of 23 different Pokémon and four types of Poké Balls, along with an Iridescent Knob that gleams with rainbow colours.
