As with PlayStation’s 2025, so much of the excitement around what’s coming for Nintendo in the next twelve months rests in what’s currently unknown.
Without any real blockbusters to speak of, Nintendo still enjoyed a pretty steady, reliable run of first-party releases in the year just gone, including the Zelda-led spin-off The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Princess Peach’s Showtime, and Mario & Luigi: Brothership.
There are a handful of known quantities to come for Nintendo, however, the elephant in the room is the looming launch of the Nintendo Switch’s successor, which I truly hope will be called the Super Nintendo Switch no matter how much the naming convention will likely baffle consumers.
So, while that launch line-up will likely include a new Mario Kart, or perhaps a mainline successor to Super Mario Odyssey, here’s what we do know about Nintendo’s 2025, as it stands.
