The Nintendo Switch 2 was announced overnight and it was revealed that following the major Nintendo Direct happening on April 2nd, the Nintendo Switch 2 will go on a global roadshow which will include Australia.
WHEN IS THE AUSTRALIAN NINTENDO SWITCH 2 PREVIEW EVENT
The Australian Nintendo Switch 2 preview event is happening on May 10th and May 11th in Melbourne at Centrepiece at Melbourne Park Olympic Blvd, Melbourne VIC 3000.
HOW TO REGISTER FOR THE AUSTRALIAN NINTENDO SWITCH 2 PREVIEW EVENT
You will need a free Nintendo Switch Online account to register and you will be able to register as an individual or for a group of up to four people. Tickets are free and there is no payment needed to enter if you get selected for the ballot.
Nintendo has said that it will not be first-in-best-dressed, so registering at any point within the 8 day registration period will give you an equal opportunity to register. It’s presumed that emails will then be sent out, and likely in waves and I presume there will be 2-3 sessions across both days.
WHAT WILL YOU GET TO PLAY AT THE AUSTRALIAN NINTENDO SWITCH 2 PREVIEW EVENT
Nintendo has published a pretty lengthy Nintendo Switch 2 preview event FAQ here and it details what to expect from the experience.
Your ticket provides you a guaranteed opportunity to have an early hands-on gameplay experience with some of the newest, upcoming games on Nintendo Switch 2.
After check-in, you may need to wait in a queue prior to starting your gameplay experience. The expected gameplay experience is 3 hours and 30 minutes. After four hours, attendees will no longer be able to participate in the experience and will be asked to leave to make room for additional attendees.
To maximise the number of guests who get to enjoy this wonderful event, the gameplay experience will include some curated games as well as time for guests to choose a limited number of additional games to play from a variety of game demos available.
We go to attend a fairly similar event for the Nintendo Switch 8 years ago, where we go to go hands-on with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2, 1-2 Switch, Snipperclips, Arms and a couple of other games. It was an amazingly run experience and you can read about that HERE.
