With the game getting delayed multiple times there was no doubt reasonable speculation about whether Grand Theft Auto 6 would hit its November 19th release date, but according to Take Two CEO Straus Zelnick, it’s on track to release this year.
“Our execution throughout Fiscal 2026 has been extraordinary and we are highly confident as we approach Fiscal 2027 – which promises to be groundbreaking for Take-Two and the entire entertainment industry – led by the November 19th release of Grand Theft Auto VI with Rockstar’s launch marketing set to begin this Summer. (Australian Winter)”
With the marketing set to kick off over the coming months, no doubt that sets a really great path forward to release in November.
He followed up in an interview with IGN by saying: “Because any time you’re getting closer to marketing beats, you’re obviously in a place where your confidence level is as high as it can be.”
Similarly, there had been rumours that the game was set to launch without a physical edition later this year but Zelnick shut this down. When asked by Variety about these reports, Zelnick said: “That’s not the plan”.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19th after delays from 2025 and then May 2026.
