Nintendo announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 would have camera compatibility with NVIDIA’s AI tech able to remove backgrounds and face track, and whilst Nintendo announced an official Nintendo Switch 2 camera, it said that other webcams would be compatible (we don’t know which specs are required yet).
Accessory maker Hori was quick to announce it’s own Nintendo Switch 2 webcam which features a bunch of cool differences. The first is that the webcam is designed in the shape of the Mario Piranha Plant and it’s mouth even acts as a built-in privacy shutter.
The stand also acts as a USB extension and the actual plant can be detached from the pot, meaning you can put your webcam on top of the Switch 2 directly to use it in portable mode.
We don’t have local pricing for this one yet, but it’s set to be cheaper than the official Switch 2 camera which is priced at $69.95 locally. The camera can be used with Nintendo’s new chat features as well as in games such as Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV.
