As reported by Nintendo Life, via consumer deep-dives and controller teardowns on Reddit, the Nintendo Switch 2 GameCube controller features vast improvements over its decades-old predecessor.

This doesn’t come as a surprise, being almost a quarter-century down the track, and technology advances pretty quickly, but it’s good that Nintendo felt the need to make a good thing even better.

The new version of the controller features a gyroscope for motion controls, as well as an improved d-pad, which is thanks in large part to the shortened distance to the circuitry.
