A rumoured Red Dead Redemption 2 PS5/Xbox Series X|S port as well as a Nintendo Switch 2 has been rumoured for months, but according to John Marston’s voice actor Rob Wiethoff, we could be getting the announcement this week.
Whilst streaming the original game this week, the voice actor said: “I’ve got such exciting news, I can’t share it with you right now, and it’s absolutely killing me…. I am so excited, I truly cannot think of anything else, especially playing this game, I can’t think of anything else other than what I want to tell you so bad.”
When asked more specifically about the announcement, Wiethoff said: “Not as soon as tomorrow, but definitely before Friday, oh my goodness, the news I have to share, and I won’t be the only one sharing it, I cannot wait for you to see what’s going on.”
It’s unclear where the announcement is going to take place, but if it is a Nintendo Switch 2 specific announcement, it does seem like that it’d be at a Nintendo Direct (which has also been rumoured), so it’ll be interesting to see what happens.
Speaking recently about the Nintendo Switch 2, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said “We’re offering more on launch support than ever before for a Nintendo platform. We’ve announced four titles for Switch 2. It remains to be seen how it does, but I am a big believer.” The four titles announced are Civ 7, WWE 2K, NBA 2K and Borderlands 4 which are all set to launch this year.
