This morning, IO Interactive announced on X that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of their upcoming James Bond action title, 007 First Light, would be delayed into the middle of the year, the developer’s summer.
The game’s other versions are still on track to meet the May 27 release date.
The post reiterates that IO Interactive is “excited to see players discovering James Bond’s reimagined origin story, and we are looking forward to bringing you the best game experience possible across all platforms.”
This isn’t the first delay the game has experienced, already slipping once from its original March release date.
007 First Light has been framed as an origin story of sorts for an inexperienced James Bond, trying to climb the ranks of MI6 and earn the rank of 00. The game stars Patrick Gibson, an Irish actor known for his role as a younger Dexter Morgan in the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin.
