Valve has announced via a blog post that their super-powered handheld gaming PC, the Steam Deck, has been delayed until 2022.
First shipments for the device have been pushed back two months from December of this year to February, based on the company’s estimates. This means that everybody in the pre-order queue will maintain their position, albeit with a two-month delay.
Valve has cited the global supply chain and ongoing material shortages for the delay, saying the components aren’t reaching their manufacturing facilities quickly enough to meet the original timeframes.
