Starfield On PC Will Require An SSD With A Fair Chunk Of Storage

I think it stands for Space Sandwich Desk?

After the internet had a meltdown over the Xbox Series X|S version of the game being capped at 30FPS, Bethesda has revealed the PC system requirements for its upcoming blockbuster RPG, Starfield, and it looks like some folks might be due a small upgrade in order to even boot the thing up.

As revealed by the minimum and recommended spec listed on the game’s Steam page, your system will have to have SSD storage of some kind in order to run the game at even a baseline spec, no mechanical hard drives allowed! It’ll also need to have at least 125GB of storage space available, meaning if you’re like me and built a PC years ago with a tiny SSD just for your Windows SSD, it’s probably not going to cut it.

Elsewhere, things seem fairly reasonable, with the game supporting down to 6th generation Intel i7 processors or more modern Intel i5 and up, and as early a GPU as a NVIDIA GeForce 1070 Ti/Radeon RX 5700 at the minimum spec. 16GB of RAM is the floor and remains the recommendation at a moderate level as well, but there’s no doubt you’ll want a higher overhead if you’re planning to push the game to its visual limits.
