Slender: The Arrival Is Getting A Huge Unreal Engine 5.2 Update

Guess who's back?

After teasing an announcement a month ago, viral horror title Slender: The Arrival’s original developer Blue Isle Studios has revealed that it’s celebrating the game’s 10th anniversary (has it really been that long??) in style, by releasing a massive new upgrade to the game with Unreal Engine 5.2-powered visuals to bring it kicking and screaming to a modern standard.

Slender: The Arrival’s upcoming “10 Year Anniversary Update” is set to overhaul the game’s visuals to give it new life and an enhanced, spooky atmosphere along with improvements to how the game itself plays. The differences are quite stark in comparison, owing to both the time passed and the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5.2. Everything from lighting to effects, materials, models and more have all been redone in incredible detail.

The update is reportedly set to launch later this year in October (appropriately), but no further details around an exact date or upgrade paths, pricing, etc have been revealed just yet.

Check out the reveal trailer for Slender: The Arrival’s 10 Year Anniversary Update, which shows some great comparative shots between both versions of the game, below:

Along with the big Slender: The Arrival update, Blue Isle Studios also revealed that it’s working on a brand new horror experience, titled S: The Lost Chapters.

While details for this new title are still thin on the ground, the developer’s own description of S: The Lost Chapters reads calls on fans of the spooky and scary to, “Prepare for a brand new type of horror. Delve deeper into the depths of infamous stories once told and unearth the terrible secrets left behind. Brace yourself for an immersive journey that is equal parts horrifying and breathtaking. An experience that is both familiar, yet different…”
