Slender: The Arrival’s Unreal Engine 5 Overhaul Has A Release Date On Console And PC

He's back.

Developer Blue Isle Studios has finally revealed the release date for Slender: The Arrival’s 10th Anniversary Update, with the newly-revamped and rebuilt version of the game in Unreal Engine 5 set to (ahem) arrive on October 18th for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Slender: The Arrival’s upcoming “10 Year Anniversary Update” is set to overhaul the game’s visuals to give it new life and an enhanced, spooky atmosphere along with improvements to how the game itself plays. The differences are quite stark in comparison, owing to both the time passed and the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5.2. Everything from lighting to effects, materials, models and more have all been redone in incredible detail.

“It’s been 10 years since the original launch and we’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to improve and add to the game,” said Blue Isle Studios co-founder Alex Tintor in a press release. “There are many more Slender Man stories to tell, and we cannot wait to deliver on these experiences.”

Blue Isle has announced that, at least on Steam, this new version of the game will come as a free update to existing owners despite the base price going up once the 10th Anniversary Update launches, and players will be able to switch between this new version and the old ones whenever they want. A brand-new chapter will also come to the game for free alongside the update.

Along Slender: The Arrival Blue Isle Studios is also working on a brand new horror experience, titled S: The Lost Chapters.

While details for this new title are still thin on the ground, the developer’s own description of S: The Lost Chapters reads calls on fans of the spooky and scary to, “Prepare for a brand new type of horror. Delve deeper into the depths of infamous stories once told and unearth the terrible secrets left behind. Brace yourself for an immersive journey that is equal parts horrifying and breathtaking. An experience that is both familiar, yet different…”
