Shenmue III Finally Has A Release Date

Even though its predecessor Shenmue II, released way back in 2001, is going to be officially old enough to drink by the time it releases, the news has rolled out of Gamescom that the third instalment of Ryo’s adventure, Shenmue III, is set to arrive next year.

In fact, it’s pretty much a year away exactly as its slated release date is August 27, 2019.

The news was accompanied by a new trailer called “The Prophecy” which gives us our best look at the game to date. The game is, of course, headed up by Yu Suzuki alongside a small team at Ys Net which is currently home to a number of Sega veterans.

Of course, if you’re unfamiliar with the series, Shenmue I + II just released in a bundle so you can catch yourself up in the year leading up to the release of the new sequel. Mark your calendars, it’s finally happening.
