Red Dead Redemption 2 Has Finally Been Rated In Australia

This is an odd one.

I’ve been waiting for Red Dead Redemption 2 to be rated in Australia, but checking the classification board has continually turned up empty.

Well, according to Kotaku Australia, Red Dead Redemption 2 has apparently been rated MA15+. This decision was apparently made in early September, but Rockstar asked the board if they would withhold the reasons until the game comes out on October 26th. This is probably due to a confronting scene (or multiple scenes) that will be alluded to in the finer notes of the board.

It’s an interesting one. On one hand, it’s interesting that the Classification Board is making these special considerations for Rockstar. I was also expecting the game to get an R18 rating, just based on what we’ve seen so far and the fact that GTA V was given an R18 rating all those years ago.

Regardless though, this means that the game won’t receive any delays and almost certainly won’t differ from other versions around the world.
