Sony has today announced that 91.6 million PlayStation 4 units have been sold as of December 31st of, 2018. This is thanks to the 5.6 million units that were sold during the 2018 holiday season (November 19th-December 31st). This is a pretty impressive feat considering the PS4 only launched 5 years ago.
Spider-Man was also a massive seller for Sony, shifting more than 9 million copies worldwide (includes both physical and digital numbers). This doesn’t include the month of December either, meaning it likely tipped over the 10 million unit mark.
When it comes to other games, more than 50.7 million PS4 games were sold during that holiday period which takes the total number of PS4 games sold passed 876 million.
