Star Wars: Squadrons’ Release Date And First Trailer Have Been Revealed Alongside VR Support

EA has dropped the Star Wars: Squadrons announcement overnight with a CGI trailer as well as a bunch of details about the game.

The game will release on October 2nd for $39.99 USD (roughly $55 AUD) for PS4, PC and Xbox One. The game will also have VR support on PlayStation VR and PC. In what looks to be a nice change, the game will support crossplay in all platforms.

The game’s campaign takes place after the Battle of Endor and destruction of Death Star II. You will alternate between two customisable pilots with the story said to feature new characters as well as some of the iconic Star Wars characters. You’ll get to see both sides of the battle.

In regards to multiplayer, two modes have been announced. Both are 5vf5 – one is called Fleet Battles which will task each team with destroying the opposing teams flagship. Dogfights will just task you with destroying as many opponents as possible.

Star Wars: Squadrons will include cosmetic and gameplay related upgrades, but they’ll all be received by playing the game.

Gameplay for the game will be revealed at EA Play on Friday.
