Mass Effect Legendary Edition Brings Together All Three Mass Effect Games Remastered In 4K

Perhaps the worst kept secret in the gaming industry following the Fable reboot, Bioware has announced overnight that the Mass Effect trilogy will be coming to the new generation of consoles sometime next year.

While not remakes or a reimagining of the game, the team has been hard at work updating pretty much every visual aspect of the game to modernise the experience. The goal of the package is to ensure that new players can experience the original work in it’s “best possible form”.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition contains: –

  • All single-player content (both base game and downloadable) from Mass Effect 1, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3
  • All promotional weapons, armours and packs previously only available through promotions such as pre-orders and the Cerberus Network.
  • Newly remastered visuals – including improved textures, shaders, models, and effects optimised for 4K Ultra HD
  • Improved framerate
  • Forward compatibility for both Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X

While no proper footage was shown, the package was confirmed for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Casey Hudson and the team at Bioware promised more updates in the new year.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition will release for the aforementioned platforms in the American spring. That’s roughly the second quarter of next year.
