The delays keep coming. In the same GQ interview that saw many PlayStation announcements this morning, Sony confirmed that Grand Turismo 7 has been delayed out of 2021 and will now release in 2022.
This is due to the ongoing pandemic which has meant that some critical aspects of game production have been slowed over several months.
Sony provided GQ Magazine with the below statement:
“GT7 has been impacted by Covid-related production challenges and therefore will shift from 2021 to 2022. With the ongoing pandemic, it’s a dynamic and changing situation and some critical aspects of game production have been slowed over the past several months. We’ll share more specifics on GT7’s release date when available.”
When asked about games such as Horizon Forbidden West and Ratchet and Clank, Ryan said that those were still on track to hit their 2021 release dates. We know that Returnal was delayed earlier this year and will now release on April 30th.
