Jason Schreier at Bloomberg is reporting that Horizon Forbidden West has been delayed until early 2022. This reports suggests that the game will no longer release in Q4 and that it has been pushed back until early next year.
This makes sense given it’s nearly August and Sony hasn’t given us a date, despite showing a good amount of gameplay in June. If Horizon Forbidden West does get delayed until next year, it would join Gran Turismo 7 as well as God of War which were both initially given 2021 release dates but have both been pushed back to next year.

When asked about Horizon Forbidden West’s prospects of releasing this year last month, Head of PlayStation Studios Hermen Hulst said: “For Horizon, we think we are on track to release this holiday season,” he said on the PlayStation blog. “But that isn’t quite certain yet, and we’re working as hard as we can to confirm that to you as soon as we can.”
We’ll let you know once this delay is confirmed by PlayStation, which will presumably happen sooner rather than later.
