PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions are celebrating a significant milestone for one of last generation’s most exciting original IPs, Ghost of Tsushima.
The studio has reported that the game has now officially sold over 8 million copies globally, including sales of its recently-released Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PS4 and PS5, which included updated features and enhancements as well as the all-new Iki Island expansion.

For comparison’s sake, 2018’s God of War has sold close to 20 million copies since launch, Horizon Zero Dawn has sold 10 million and Marvel’s Spider-Man has sold over 13 million copies.
We gave the game’s original release an 8.5/10, calling it a gorgeous and epic samurai adventure cut from a similar cloth to the platform’s other AAA open worlds. We scored last year’s Director’s Cut a 9/10, praising the impactful refinements to its gameplay and the beautiful, personal tale told in its Iki Island expansion.
