Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy Is Apparently In Development Trouble And Is Unlikely To Release This Year

The upcoming Harry Potter game, Hogwarts Legacy was one of the first PS5 games that got announced, way back when in July 2020, but we haven’t seen it in close to 18 months now.

Speaking on the Sacred Symbols podcast (as detailed by VGC), Colin Moriarty, said that he was “Hearing behind the scenes that game is not coming out this year, and that it’s in some sort of trouble.”

Interestingly enough, PlayStation officially released of 22 big games that were set to release in 2022 today and despite the fact that games such as God of War: Ragnarok, Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad were all listed without concrete dates, Hogwarts Legacy was not.

Following JK Rowling’s transphobic comments, it had been reported that members of the development team had fought to make the game as inclusive as possible, which could be reason for the delay.

Hogwarts Legacy was originally supposed to release in 2021, with the development team announcing that it had been delayed until 2022 with the below message:

“We would like to thank fans from around the world on the tremendous reaction to the announcement of Hogwarts Legacy from our Portkey Games label. Creating the best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans is paramount to us so we are giving the game the time it needs. Hogwarts Legacy will be released in 2022”

We’ll keep you posted as soon as hear anymore on Hogwarts Legacy.
